Arrival-Day

  • Arrive at Denpasar Airport and transfer to Ubud.
    Transfers included.
  • Check into our idyllic resort, Alam Indah

Day 1

  • 9:00 am breakfast at Alam Indah
  • Explore Ubud with our guide
    Discover why Ubud is known as the art center of Bali. We’ll see the foremost shops and markets for woodworking, fabrics, jewelry, and fine paintings.
  • Lunch in Ubud.
  • Return to resort for "down time"
  • Bali orientation
    Roger will treat us to what is to come with his photos and commentary about Bali
  • 4:00pm cooking class at Laka Leke Restaurant
    We will have the opportunity to see and taste many of the exotic fruits and vegetables of Bali while we prepare our own fresh and healthy dinner. Explore some cocktails made from exotic juices. (www.lakaleke.com)

Day 2  Select adventure day or cultural day

Adventure day

  • **7:30 am breakfast for adventure group.
  • Travel to the Bali Elephant Park
    Ride the elephants and afterwards enjoy the tropical forest/flora and fauna with a guided tour ..Spot/ID the many bird species!
  • Proceed to Sobek Telaga Waja River Rafting
    Experience a two hour raft ride followed by lunch.
  • Return to Alam Indah by 2:30.

Cultural Day

  • **9:00 am breakfast for the cultural group.
  • Travel to galleries/museums in Ubud
    Visit the Neka Museum for an overview of Bali’s fine art traditions, the Seniwati Gallery specializes in works by women and the Agung Rai Museum
  • Lunch in Ubud.
  • Return to the resort by 2:30.

Everyone

  • All participants depart at 3:30 for Tanah Lot Temple.
    This ancient temple was founded in the 1500’s. It is beautiful and located on a huge rock surrounded by caves, myths and the ocean. Cameras are a must for this spot.
  • We’ll have wine-thirty at the Sunset Terrace
  • Dinner overlooking the temple.

Day 3

  • Breakfast at 8:00.
  • Depart to Mas to visit woodcarvers.
    The whole village creates masks and elaborate woodwork.
  • Proceed to Celuk to see the jewelers create elaborate silver and gold jewelry.
  • Lunch in Celuk.
  • Continue drive south to Uluwatu Temple to enjoy the setting sun at this ancient and sacred site.
  • Before dinner we’ll watch a performance of the fire and kecuk dance
  • Seafood dinner at Jimbaron Bay

Day 4 Select adventure day or cultural day

Adventure Day

  • 7:30 am breakfast for adventure group.
  • Drive north and stop at Oka plantation
    a bountiful place with coffee, cacao, and fruit growing. We’ll sample special fruits and drinks
  • Two hour bike ride through the beautiful villages and forests unique to Bali, near Mt. Batur.
  • Lunch will follow the ride
  • Return to the resort by 3:30

Cultural Day

  • 8:30 breakfast for cultural group.
  • Visit Ubud to take in the early food market.
  • Return to the resort at 10:00 for a cooking class at Laka leke and then eat our creations for lunch.
  • There will be time for reasonably priced massages available between 11:00 am and 8:00 pm.
  • Wine-thirty at 6:30
  • Free evening in Ubud for dinner and entertainment.

Day 5  Depart for Munduk village

  • Breakfast
  • Stops along the way at Gunung Kawi (Poet’s Mountain) - 11th century pavilions and shrines, Pacung - a traditional market in a small village, and Jatiluwih - the most beautiful and largest rice terraces in Bali.
  • Lunch near the two lakes, Danau Botha and Danau Buyan.
  • Visit the Ulun Danu temple
  • Travel to our next overnight stay, Puri Lumbung cottages http://www.purilumbung.com
  • These are traditional rice granaries, averaging over 80 years old, that have been refurbished as cottages. (Possible rice field hiking)
  • Wine-thirty
  • Dinner at Puri Lumbung.

Day 6

  • Breakfast at 8:00.
  • We’ll head by bike or on foot to visit coral waterfalls, the biggest tree in Bali, hot springs, GitGit waterfall, and a chocolate plantation.
  • Lunch
  • Personal instruction in weaving, dancing, language, or herbal medicine.
    **Relaxation and a free afternoon is also an option.
  • Dinner at Puri Lumbung.

Day 7

  • Breakfast at 8:00.
  • Depart for Lovina Beach
    experience the black sand beaches on the Java Sea.
    There’ll be dolphin watching and the monkey guarded Temple Pulaki.
  • Depart at 11:00 for drive down eastern coast.
  • Lunch will either be in Tembok or Kubu on the waterfront.
  • Travel to Mount Agug Volcano for trekking and views.
  • Check in at Uma Agung in Sideman

Day 8

  • Breakfast at 8:30.
  • Visit Island Mother Temple Besakih and receive blessings.
  • Lunch near the temple.
  • Continue to Tirtangangga Water Garden and Taman Ujung Water Palace.
  • Take in the waters at Virgin Beach, a very secluded spot off the beaten path.
  • Return to Uma Agung in Sideman
  • Wine-thirty
  • Dinner

Day 9

  • Breakfast at 8:30. 
  • Depart for Ubud,
    Stop along the way at a Aga Bali pre-Hindu village, Tenganon.
    This village is known for its unique technique of weaving, called the double ikat, where the belief in the magical power of the fabric is essential in bringing out the beauty of the ikat cloth.
  • Lunch in Tenganon
  • Return to Ubud and Alam Indah.
  • Dinner and a free evening on your own in Ubud

Day 10 Free day

  • Breakfast available at your leisure
  • Revisit favorite sites, finish shopping, lay by the pool or get another massage or two. Maybe even a spiritual reading for your continued life journey home.
  • Reconvene at 6:30 for wine-thirty and our farewell dinner.
    Entertainment will be fire dance and musical performance

Day 11

  • Breakfast
  • Check out and depart for airport.
